For the second year in a row, PHFS is continuing to operate both the Goose Hollow Family Shelter and the Thirteen Salmon Family Center all year long. Homelessness doesn’t take a summer vacation. Neither should your support of PHFS. In order to continue serving this many families and helping so many of them find permanent housing, we need your support to keep the shelters open this summer.
We’ve done the math, and we have found that it takes $1,500 of private donations for each family that PHFS serves. That amount doesn’t include any Multnomah County money or funding from foundation grants; rather, we need $1,500 per family from you, our donors. This summer, we will help 20 homeless families with children find permanent housing. That will cost us $30,000.
We are inviting you to sponsor a homeless family that receives services from PHFS. You may choose to fully sponsor a homeless family for $1,500, or you could be a half or quarter family sponsor. Any amount that you give today will get us closer to our goal of $30,000 that we need to raise this summer. If each of our donors sponsors at least a portion of a family, then PHFS will be able to continue helping families achieve self-sufficiency for a second summer in a row.
